What it is
The wash sits along the bottom third of each card and is cut off by the trim, so the colour runs to the edge of the paper rather than stopping inside a border. The type sits above it, which keeps the wording off the darkest part of the page and readable in print.
The deckle along the foot is drawn rather than cut, so an ordinary straight trim gives the torn edge. No special finishing is needed from the printer and none is assumed anywhere in the files.
The details card carries the wash up the side instead of along the foot, because that card is usually the one read at arm’s length on a hall table, and the change keeps the block of text clear.
What you can change
- All wording, including the names, the date, the time and the venue
- The reply-by date and the address replies are sent to
- The height of the wash on the page and the depth of its colour
- Text size, weight and colour on every line
How you change it
Open the link in the order email. Canva makes a copy of the template in your own account and leaves the original alone, so you can start again at any point.
Type over the wording: names, dates, times, the address of the venue, the reply-by date, the table names and anything else that is yours.
Move or resize the text boxes if your wording runs long. The drawings and washes are on their own layer and stay where they are unless you move them.
Export with Canva’s Share menu, choosing PDF Print with crop marks and bleed. That is the file your printer wants.
Cancelling, and what happens to that right
A buyer has fourteen days to cancel a purchase without giving a reason. That period is cut short only where the buyer asks at the checkout for the links to be sent immediately and confirms that this ends the right for what is sent. Neither box is ever ticked for you, and leaving both alone is a perfectly good order: the links then wait until the fourteen days are up. Either way, the rights that apply if a template is faulty, not as described or not fit for a purpose the shop was told about are untouched.
